Our Mission:
To holistically uplift communities one family at a time.
“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Our Vision:
Inspired by the love and gospel of Jesus Christ, we desire to see families in crisis “lifted up” and restored to spiritual, emotional and financial wholeness. Created out of the desire to transform the lives of families and communities in crisis, the organization was started in 2006. UPLIFT is designed to provide ministry that meets the felt, practical needs of the community.
President:
Dr. Maurice Pugh provides the visionary and strategic leadership for UPLIFT. A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Dr. Pugh served as Pastor of Christian Education at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. As a student at Dallas Theological Seminary, he also served in the inner-city ministry with STEP (Strategies to Elevate People) and Bridge Builders. It was during this time that his heart and knowledge for serving low-income families and comunitites was developed. Pastor Pugh brings vision, commitment and compassion to the leadership of UPLIFT Community Development.
