UPLIFT is guided by a core set of convictions that determine what and how services will be provided.

These include:

  • The Faith-Based community is a critical element in social transformation with a strong history of providing compassionate care to those in need.
  • Families and communities require a holistic approach, since needs are complex and multifaceted.
  • Strategies should be developed with a view toward empowerment and long-term transformation.
  • Services should meet felt needs, while building moral and spiritual foundations.
  • Services should be offered with a family-centered approach that strengthens each member and the family unit as a whole.
  • Education for children and adults is one of the major elements for success.
